POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Health and Safety (H&S) Data Analyst reports directly to the Manager, H&S Corporate Assurance  and is responsible for providing analysis to be used  in the implementation, deployment and continuous improvement of Cheniere’s H&S governance, processes and/or systems for construction projects, LNG Terminal, midstream and pipeline operations. By capitalizing on industry knowledge, the successful candidate will provide guidance to support and/or ensure reliable operation and long-term sustainability of H&S programs and tools. This position will hold primary responsibility for ongoing and day-to-day provision of H&S data and analytics and serve as a central point-of-contact for H&S data needs. 
 
KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of governmental regulations and associated codes and standards inclusive of OSHA, FERC, USCG, DOT, NFPA, and PHSMA regulations, chemical and hazardous material management, and comprehensive health and safety programs. General understanding of LNG (or other cryogenic hydrocarbon liquids or other oil and gas) transportation, storage and processing with respect to application of health and safety requirements, inclusive of office safety, from project development through operations (terminal and pipelines).  Knowledge of Operational H&S Best Practices; Hazard recognition, exposure and required controls; Safe Work Processes in Personal and Process Safety, Occupational Health and Industrial Hygiene; and Behavioral Based Safety Programs.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Be a leader and advocate in embedding the safety culture that delivers on the Company’s Values and in particular that of Safety
  • Perform robust data analysis to ensure efficient and accurate reporting and compliance with various federal, state and local regulatory requirements in-support of the construction projects, LNG, midstream and pipeline operations. 
  • Assist in data collection for the H&S Management Information Systems functional areas.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the H&S Enterprise wide Assurance Schedule, including but not limited to, planning, scheduling and coordinating with locations to avoid overlaps.
  • Participate in assurance activities including field observations, document reviews, and employee interviews as needed.
  • Maintain and/or draft H&S meeting agendas/minutes, presentations, training materials, Safety Alerts, Lessons Learned, Assurance Reports or Assurance Terms of Reference documents and Corrective Action Plan statuses reports.
  • Maintain and draft H&S reports as needed (e.g., weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually) based on the Corporate H&S programs.
  • Assist in the data collection, cleansing, interpretation, analysis and resolving discrepancies in data.
  • Utilize statistical techniques to identify trends or patterns in complex data sets from various sources or systems to proactively identify H&S risks.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies to optimize statistical efficiency and quality of H&S data.
  • Monitor data anomalies, evaluate data integrity issues and propose solutions.
  • Actively participate in formal and informal communication to increase and enhance the understanding and awareness of H&S metrics.
  • Verify data accuracy for regulatory reports including, analysis findings and visual representation of the data for internal reporting e.g., pie charts, pivot tables, etc.
  • Engage in H&S Data Management Processes contributing to process improvements.
  • Ensure projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project.
  • Document and follow up on actions and decisions from project meetings.
  • Compile reports to convey H&S performance of the business.
 
QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS):
  • Education and Certifications: Minimum of Associates Degree. Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Occupational Safety & Health or related studies or other equivalent education.
  • Experience:  Three - Five (3 - 5) or more years of experience performing data analysis, trending and reporting, as well as, assessing and/or auditing H&S key business processes in support of an LNG, gas processing and/or other industrial facility or relevant industry.
  • Experience analyzing key H&S programs including, but not limited to, Incident Management, Management of Change, H&S Assurance and other H&S Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Functional knowledge or recent hands-on experience with applications that support H&S data reporting, trending and analysis.
  • Skills:
    • Strong safety Leadership and administrative abilities are required.
    • Ability to identify and articulate health and safety issues in a hazardous environment and suggest mitigation measures.
    • Ability to use software to merge, manipulate and analyze large data sets with complex structures.
    • Data visualization skills, ideally including interactive reports.
    • Detail-orientation and ability to keep accurate, well-organized records.
    • Competency in written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization and with individuals and groups from different disciplines.
    • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, with a focus on detail orientation.
    • Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills. 
    • Strong Microsoft Excel skills with proficiency with v-Lookups and pivot tables.
    • Computer proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of software.
  • Must maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card in good standing.

FREEDOM TO ACT:
Follows the Company’s Policies and functions under the guidance of the Director of Corporate Health and Safety.
 
WORK CONDITIONS:
  • Some job functions are performed in a project/construction environment. 
  • Occasionally, work may be required after normal work hours or on weekends.
  • Required to travel, as business conditions dictate.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, work at height above ground on stairs and catwalks, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk or hear, smell, type and write. 
  • Must be able to board a ship via a gangway, climb to the top of a tank (200+ steps), scale vertical steel ladder up to forty feet or more in height, and lift and move objects weighting up to 30 pounds.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work indoors and outdoors, and exposed to year around weather conditions, ocean environment, noise, and occasionally process gases and vapors.
  • Subject to drug and alcohol testing, per applicable federal regulations.
  • Will be required to use appropriate PPE based on the requirements established at the various locations
